We can provide tailor made group and individual art workshops in pottery, print, painting, drawing, collage and more for a wide variety of events and client groups, from team training to hen parties and family celebrations, from talented teens to children’s projects to supporting undergraduates, as well as working with children and adults with a wide variety of particular needs.
Workshops generally take place here in our own small studios but these may not meet the needs of all – please read our studio practicalities page before booking. We can also work in a venue of your choosing (eg for larger groups or groups whose needs cannot be met in our studios). You will find guidelines to our charges below.
One-to-one private tuition:
Sometimes it can be really useful to have a number of intensive one-to-one sessions to tackle an area of particular personal interest or to work on something not normally covered in the group classes (eg throwing on the wheel in pottery). These sessions will be entirely focussed on your own particular needs and skills.
One to one tuition is generally priced at £25 per hour, and one-to-two tuition at £35 per hour (ie £17.50 per person) – this includes basic materials and processes – prices may vary where more specialist materials, processes or other preparatory or after-work may be involved.
Tailor-made group classes:
If you have your own idea for a special event or course and if you can gather a group of 4-8 people together we can also tailor-make a one-off event especially for you in pottery, print, painting, drawing or collage at our studios. We can also work with larger groups at a venue of your choosing.
We are very happy to discuss your ideas for a theme or project for your sessions – a day of creative fun can be a great way to celebrate a special event such as weddings and birthdays and is a wonderful alternative activity for a hen or stag do.
You may book us for half a day, whole day, weekend or any period of time usually measured in half day units. The current price per head for such activities is from £25 per person per half day (a half day is usually up to 2.5 hrs teaching time) and includes all standard materials – prices may vary if we need to do a lot of preparatory or after work or if more expensive specialist materials are required.
(NB for pottery activities, a first or biscuit firing of pots is usually included in the price for one-off pottery workshops. Glazing and re-firing will incur an extra cost and generally either an extra session booked for participants to carry this out in their choice of glazes or Fran may be booked to glaze on the group’s behalf, usually in one pre-chosen glaze for all the group. Clients should usually arrange collection of pottery from the studios after firing).
The minimum group cost for working at other venues is 6 people / £150 per half day – cost includes local journeys – additional travel costs may be charged for venues further afield. Venue hire where required will be in addition.

Children’s groups:
In our studios we can offer group sessions for 3-6 children with at least one accompanying responsible adult for every three children (ie for a group of 4-6 children we would require two accompanying adults).
Our in-studio children’s group sessions cost min £12.50 per child per hour (minimum charge per 1hr group event: £50). We can cater for larger groups in a venue of your choosing, but always require a ratio of at least one accompanying supervisory adult to three children.
We enjoy and have wide experience of working with children and find that children will get the most out of the sessions where the accompanying adults engage fully in supporting the children’s work and take responsibility for any pastoral and behavioural needs. Our studios are designed for professional level art activities and therefore contain tools, materials and equipment which may be dangerous – parents should come in person to assess the safety of the environment and discuss any concerns with us prior to booking any event.
